Pacific Custom Webs was started in 2008 with the goal of helping small companies to expand their business with the use of online technologies and related services. Over the last few years we have completed several successful projects for our clients, which are providing them with valuable new tools to run their day to day businesses.  We are proud of the work we have done in this area.  Over the past year and a half, we have focused on several internal projects which will be the driving force going forward.  We will continue to support our existing customers as we make this change in direction with the same excellent service you have become accustomed to.

The direction we are moving in is developing tools which help connect people and businesses to the world around them.  We have several projects of our own in progress that relate to this general topic.  We are also interested in working with other individuals or small organizations who are interested in developing projects with this general focus.  If you have a project in mind and would be interested in collaboration, please contact us.  We would be glad to discuss your ideas and see if there is an opportunity for us to work together.

So where is Pacific Custom Webs headed?  Well, here are a couple projects being worked on that kind of show the direction we are headed in.

• Read Some Stuff - A tool that allows users to define the topics they are interested in through the entry of RSS feeds.  The goal is to allow the user to log into one central place and be able to view all of the things going on in the world that are of interest to them.  The goals for the project are for users to be able to share this information through the site itself, or with other users pushing this data out to their friends using email and social networks.  Down the road as the use base grows there is a great opportunity for directed advertising since the users have used this tool to define what their specific interests and hobbies are.

• Face To Friend - Facebook has done an incredible job of allowing people to connect with their friends, even friends of friends.  Beyond that while it is possible to attempt to friend people through groups, or other associations it is not common and is based on very limited information since most people keep their data limited mostly to their friends.  Face To Friend will be a site, a Facebook app, and available on mobile devices which allows people to come together and talk with people they do not know.  Over time these new relationships based on similar areas of interest will develop into online friendships, possible real life friendships, and the opportunity to add these new friends to their Facebook friends.
